Hi guys,

I am new to cars but recently brought a Ford Falcon.

Here is a photo of her..

Image

At the moment she's real quiet and I am unsure what is the best exhaust system to give her some noise??

Looking at spending around the $500-$600 mark, I wont be doing it myself.

I am not interested in upgrading cars and happy to modify what I've got and spend the money, she has good kms, in excellent condition and we all start somewhere!

Looking forward to the replies, thanks guys! :D

I would be looking for a BA-BF factory XR6 Turbo exhaust. They aren't "Look at me" loud and have a nice note to them.

There are stacks of catbacks on Ebay.
Redback does not too bad gear that is cost effective.
There is brand new systems for $250.
They are easy to fit. Either get a few friends around and a few beers and knock it over in a few hours or take it to an exhaust place and give them $150 to fit it.
Comes in under your budget and is brand new.
Second hand is only cheap at first. In the long run it works out dearer.

Sorry forgot to make mention I'd like a twin system, at the moment (how I brought it) it has two but one is just for show, I am unsure how it'd go with my car, eventually I'd like it to sound good, have turbo and as I go modify it even more.

Thank you for the price list too I am not sure what the prices are of them, what's good, what's not and what to look out for, so I buy it and take it to get fitted? Can I buy it from the shop or should I buy online?

Thank you again :D

What are thoughts on the X force?

My brother suggested it to me?

I haven't been impressed with my stock turbo style system. The guy I bought it off said his mechanic checked it but for all I know he got rid of it for a good reason.

The XForce systems are some of the louder ones on the market but if you want a twin/quad system you have to basically go either single or dual 2.5.

They are good for a over 300rwkw on a XR6T so they should be fine for a NA6

You can't compare NA and turbo systems. For any given power level the turbo car will have a lot of energy taken out of the exhaust by the turbine

True but a dual 2 and 1/4" is more than enough for stock NA6

Normally yes but the turbo style exhausts still have big heavy mufflers that don't flow straight through and I've never liked the sound of mine particularly with a 100 cell cat.

I'd get a single 2.5" system with two mufflers and twin tips on the end if that's the look you are after. I got a red back system put on my fair mint and its more than enough without being overly loud.

I have X-force headers, X-force cat and a redback 2.5'' system with one muffler and its way loud lol. I had 2 mufflers on originally as the exhaust came (you cant get a one muffler system to suit BA N/A off the shelf... believe me, I tried) butn it was way too quiet.

A hotdog wouldve been the way to go, but BA's are pretty quiet in the cabin. So the people outside can put up with the noise :)

XForce cat back has much smaller mufflers so that might have given you the sound you were after.
