Hi guys just doing an au conversion into my ef with all the turbo bits :D
just had a few things I needed to work out

is it fine to use the ef timing cover on the au block or should I just use a the au and leave it at that

also is their any think special I need to do when I install the cam angle sensor
like timing the oil pump or getting the sensor sitting in the correct place

When fitting the cam sensor do the following,
1) You will need to modify the locking olate for the cam sensor as the AU bolt hole is on the opposite side to the RF Block. You can get the plug to stretch to fit but it is at its limits.
2) set the motor to top dead centre.
3) Fit a 4mm drill to the hole in the side of the sensor and rotate till it locks in.
4) Insert the sensor, if the engine is set TDC and the sensor is locked then timing will be right. You may need to jiggle the crank a little to align the oil pump.
5) Lock down the sensor and don't forget to remove the 4mm drill.
6) fit sensor plug.
7) Job Done.
