Hi guys,
I have bought new fuel injectors for my NL V8. I can see that I need to take off the Throttle Body to get to the injectors already fitted, not too much of a nuisance but is there a gasket that would fit between the throttle body and upper intake manifold? If so, where do you recommend to buy one from? Thanks. |

You can leave the throttle body on the upper intake. You actually need to remove the upper intake from the lower intake to do the injectors.
There is a gasket for it that most auto parts shops will have (Upper to Lower manifold Gasket) Nigel |

As Nigel said, if also recommend using a 3/8 drive 1/2" sockets, with a wobble bar to remove the rear upper manifold bolts.

I called Universal Parts and the only sell the lower intake manifold gasket and so then I called Repco and they only sell the lot in a package which includes the lower intake to throttle body gasket and head to lower intake. They priced it at $36.99 and it's on order. |

Trick flow and the likes sell indivual gaskets for either the 58mm or 70mm T/B.
Ford racing also do the standard HO manifold gasket and also the GT40 (Explorer). |

Hi guys. I ended up buying an intake gasket set from Repco, was only $39. I spent about 4 1/2 hours yesterday, fitted the new injectors, new bosch fusion plugs and k&n filter. The car is completely stock with 223k and by making these changes, f*ck me she drives well.
The only slight hurdle I found was disconnecting the fuel lines, the connectors up the top are strange, and thanks to a few other posts throughout the forum, I just d/c the lines down at the left side of the engine bay and then lifted the whole fuel rail out... During all this I found the PCV valve hose was not connected to underneath the TB too... and it looked like the TB have been off before and a few connections weren't made including some vacuum lines. Now the TB all torqued up correctly and after a few turns of the key to prime the fuel, she fired straight away with no leaks anywhere. I am absolutely stoked! I just saved myself $2500 in labour lol The engine no longer has a stutter on acceleration and is much more responsive. The injectors I bought were VDO (the ones fitted were original Ford). Now just to replace the alternator (i don't think it's charging the battery properly and its very noisy, sounds like a bearing inside) and to get all discs machined... just the usual wobble at front and squeak squeak at the rear... |
