speed sensor shouldn't effect rpm gauge though... you obviously fitted an EF loom for the coil pack? was the loom known to be working? No connections are wrong?

Speed sensor is stuffed, probably stripped gear, replace the gear and see how she goes.

Learn something new every day.

AS I said about 4 posts ago, speed sensor is stuffed, probably stripped gear, replace gera and see how it goes, if its not the gear that is stuffed check that all the wiring is plugged in and if it is, then replace the sensor itself.

the limiter is still odd though... I wasn't aware e series had a rev limiter at all... As I said I thought maybe LHM might have been a limiter?

I guess my car was in LHM, certainly seemed like it, run as rich as and just felt to be in that state... In saying that, it is a chipped auto EL computer, so you may still be right SWC... Chip wasn't making good contact so it would have still been auto configure and in LHM... Come to think of it... :?

pull the sender out of the side of the gearbox...

Still something not quite right with the loom or computer due to the 3500rpm limit...

also if i haven't mentioned earlier,

if i turn the car off then turn it straight back on i can rev to 5000 with out hitting limiter in first gear.... then it starts again as soon as i go to second which usually involes me going staight to 3rd..... just another thing that happens..

Catalytic converter is blocked. Drop the cat then start it running just out of the exhaust manifold and it should rev out. You can also bash the centre of the cat out and It performs better and it saves buying another one

Turned out to be because my manual loom wasn't right, an my speedo wasn't working an caused a safety feature where you couldn't rev past 3500 soon as I changed loom speedo worked an limiter stopped... Thanks anyways have since long scrapped that car

Tha cons :)
