does any one know if i can re route the brake lines away from the abs module as per a non abs model and what effect this might have on the computer?
also if i replace the abs from the wreckers i have been advised they can only be bled via a ford diagnostic scan tool using a special card? the problem is the brake pedal is sinking and i have replaced it with a new one bled the system and even clamped off all the brake hoses and the pedal still sinks! - i have been told it must be leaking down via the abs - any ideas please - johnny t |

more than likely its your master cyl bleeding down not the abs..
had similar problem with my ed, the pedal would sink and if I jump on the brakes hard the abs would drop the brake pedal to the floor, which resulted in a miner rear ender.. to simplify it just remove the abs relay this puts it in default and bypasses the abs function.. as to bleed it?? no they are not bled with scan tool or special card.. who ever told you that have no idea what they are talking about... while the abs has bleed screws you can still just bleed it as per normal, done it many times and brakes always bleed up fine.. or just go to the wreckers and get all the lines from non abs ed and remove abs all together.., also the abs has its own module and has no connection to the engine computer.. |
