hi guys.
planning on doing a manifold swap on the windsor and while its off im looking at changing lifters as its always been a bit on the rattly side.. any recommendations on brands to use? locally I can get crower roller lifters and they want $360 for the set. ive found a set of crane lifters on ebay for $255. then I can get either the ford motorsport or trickflow lifters from summit for only $119. plus $60 postage.. of course if I can get the same quality for half the price why not?? but not sure on the quality.. for those that don't know my car, its an au xr8 220kw with trickflow heads, pushrods, and 1.7 rockers.. what do you guys recommend ??? |

I just built a 5.0 Dart iron eagles,Yellow Terra rollers,Comp Cams 35-351-8 cam,Probe forge pistons,explorer ported inlet manifold,70 mm t/b.
I used Comp Cams 851-16 roller lifters seem ok .I got my engine machining done at Dandy engines and was told the factory ones are hard to beat on a fairly tuff hydraulic roller cammed windsor ,they build some pretty tuff windsors. He told me to pull the old rollers ,if in good condition, down clean and reassemble. But I had already brought the Comp Cams rollers. They have been fine on my motor. It gets revved to the rev limiter so they've been worked out hard and held up . Cost me $235 |
