I just think there is too much unnecessary stigma following these things.
Everyone has an opinion of them but most of the time it is unfounded, either by imagination, or by word of someone else that had no idea.
I like it when people actually have a think about the issues around things (like yourself with the stress concentration) but it needs to go further than that. If you see something that grabs your attention/raises a concern, investigate it a little further and see whether that concern is founded or not.
Ideally I'd like to see a proper investigation/analysis done on these so a standard could be drawn up and them made legal for road use. They are used in many forms of motorsport and seem to hold up just fine.

More weight on the axle means more work for the shocks to keep it under control over bumpy bits.

Just wondering if hub adapters are safer over spacers?

And as far as I know running hub adapters would just put more strain on the studs.
So is it not possible to run something like a ARP stud which is more stronger to help with the added strain and run decent hub adapters

There is nothing dangerous about good quality Hub Adaptors thet are fitted correctly. Problem is that not all Hub Adaptors are quality and many are not fitted correctly. Most issues are with the incorrect studs or wheel nuts.

Hub Adaptors are illegal unless factory fitted and I doubt very much that they would be engineerable even though they can be used in motor racing.

They will also void your insurance if you have an accident.

Yeah I know what you mean thats my biggest issue! Every car I have is almost not coverable by insurance for those kinds of reasons hence why I want one car that I can driven around with. without being worried.

So this way all I have to do is run the AU diff in the rear.
