"diff" meaning Brain.

Not sure if his brain was engaged in gear or not. Maybe he had one of those LSD brains?

What would be the most the factory/stock ecu could handle without a hissy?
Could it control a 347 for instance? A 351?
Would you whack a J3 in there or something with a tune to get around it, or is this an example of when a stand alone ecu comes into play?

Where in melbourne would be the recomended place to get this done?

And, again, is mick webb/SVO still going? How does he rate these days?

Yes, Mick Webb is still around. Charter street in Ringwood he's at. Or a little google search would've told you that......

Any ideas on what kind of rwkw (rough is fine) n ef falcon sedan, auto, might see with
A) a 351W (stock-ish)
B) a 460W (also stock_ish, not sure what car came out of, imported from us, guessing F truck?)

Lastly,
Worth it? I mean pursuing these 2 avenues, over just intake/head and cam work on a 5L HO.

No such thing as a 460W in a production vehicle.
A 460 is a bigblock. IE; 370/429/460 family. Referred to by Ford as the 385 series bigblock or LIMA engine.

So this motor wouldnt be a stroked 351, it is a 460 big block, in its own right?

Therefore, not so easy "bolt in" plug n play?

Advice?

I doubt a big block would fit or it would need a fair bit of work to make it fit.

Stock 351's make similar power to a 5.0 but more torque, cause they are built for trucks where torque is more important. Modified its a different story though, it will obviously make more power and most importantly the 351 blocks are much stronger and can be stroked to over 420 cubes.

This was my thinking too, thanks.
I figure the initial 351 would provide a stronger "base" to then build upon...
Plus torque is what moves the car off the line, straight away winning!

Will the factory ecu (eec-iv?) Happily run the 351?
(i plan to install everything back onto it the same as it was on the 302... Will this work?)

Thanks again, sorry if dumb questions...

Thankyou, I appreciate it.

When you say "with a tune", is this complex/expensive? J3, dyno?
I have no real experiance modifying a car like this...
Im hoping for the least expensive (easy) most straight forward swap, just for the beginning, to atleast be able to drive... Stock ecu will not handle the engine?

And thanks bottledup, reading that now.

stock EEC will handle most engines. I ran a stock EEC on a 351C for many years.

Stock computer along with the Moates Quarterhorse and Binary Editor software will handle most applications. As XR9UTE said its pretty versatile and will be capable of running even radical engine combos.

Thankyou both, its appreciated.
Its amazing how a simple little forum can provide so much more reliable advice than a dozen workshops full of "qualified mechanics".

:)
