hi guys..
after some input on what would get superglue of paintwork. I decided to remove the silver strip off the door of the au as they were starting to lift, but it seems someone has used super glue in 2 spots. so far ive tried turps and thinners. im thinking there is no hope. suggestions ?????? |

Someone used it to hold some badges onto my car - I had to SCRAPE it off with a screwdriver, sand, and re paint the area unfortunately.

Acetone (Nail Polish Remover) will remove superglue, also available at Chemists, but check it on some "safe paintwork" to ensure it won't strip the paint.

I have some of this and it does work well - does say though not to use on painted surfaces. Caramel wheel as above might be your best option - Vgautopaints do have them.

and the winner is... acetone..
it took a while for it to break the glue down and it didn't damage the paint, it seemed to soften the paint surface but not enough to remove or damage it.. unfortunately me scratching at it yesterday had scratched the paint slightly so a light touch up and all is good enough.. after taking glue off touched up. |
