hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. dads car (ef xr8) has developed a idle problem. its idle fluctuates with I small popping back fire sound. and sounds like its dropped a cylinder. so far ive replaced the plugs rotor button and cap. cleaned the M.A.F cleaned throttle body and isc. and now running out of ideas. the leads were replaced 12 months ago

Could be a vac leak or leaky EGR valve or dead fuel pump or a base engine problem or....
How does it drive otherwise? DO a self test. |

self test shows code 111 on koeo. cant test koer because it dies. havnt driven it since it developed the problem. checked for vac leak by spraying carbie cleaner over the vac lines and inlet manifold with no success. it seams to rev fine. but drops rapidly ss soon as lifted on throttle. how would I check leaky egr? and fuel pump?

update time.....
it decided to play nice and let me get koer test done. thrown 2 codes. 785 canister purge circuit faulty. (isnt connected was like that when got car) 998 engine running test error iac.ect.maf or tp faulty. sugestions on what to check now would be great |

First of all take it for a drive. It's sounding like the MAF but could still be a number of things. Once under load(when driving) things become more apparent.
