As long as the car still has the factory plug on the dash loom, buy yourself the aerpro adaptor harness...
http://aerpro.com/chart/Ford%20Falcon%2094_98.pdf AP7901F All you then is get the harness that comes with the cd player and match the colours up and solder/heatshrink them together... Then it just plugs into the dash loom plug and into the cd player and looks neat and involves no soldering in the car... For the love of god don't use scotch locks or screw down terminals... Seen some extremely poorly installed cd players in my short time on earth... The rest is easy... Use the factory brackets and trial them in a few places until you get the headunit sitting right in the face and bolt them on there... I'm not a fan of 6x9's... I have 6.5's all round in my ED and I use JBL stuff but one day may upgrade to focal stuff... Also may never get the money and just keep my JBL stuff too... Cheers, Tim

Well, the tape deck has always been in and before me, my ild man had it for 10 years or so and he didnt tamper with it, so the factory plug should still be intact, yeah? And thanks heaps mate, any tips om removing the tapedeck?

Okay, so I get the aerpro adaptor, match up the colored wires with the cd player harness, one end gors into cd playe and one end goes into dash loom, yes? Then I should he able to bracket it in.

Yeah simple as... You can get all that ready then so it only takes minimal time to install... Any auto shop should carry the aerpro stuff in stock... You can solder and heatshrink? Soldering wires is THE best connection you can make...
Not sure how the surround comes off on EF/EL... On my ED there is two screws which goes in the top edge of the facia up into the dash... You remove them and facia rolls off... You'll see the screws holding the deck in and remove them (may need some tamper proof torx bits) and then the deck will slide out... The aerpro plug uses std colours where ford made up their own... If you cut the Ford plug off you then have to spend hours working out which wire does what... Also this way if you change head unit brands in the future you can cut the cd player plug off and sell the unit and as long as your aerpro plug has enough length you can solder the new manufacturer plug onto it... Both aerpro and cd player plug will have the following colour arrangement... If you get stuck doing it just sing out and someone here will assist... Cheers, Tim

As in two speakers had the wrong polarity? Or two speakers were swapped?
I haven't had an issue with the ED or the AU one yet... The ED one never comes with the illumination wire which is a pain as you need to pinch a pin out of something else... Cheers, Tim

two speakers were swapped, I think instead of rear left being rear left it was right front, and the right front was rear left, I've had it happen with all four I've used.

EF/EL plugs? I've never used one...
I'm 99% sure all my speakers fade as intended... I'm using an AU one now... Cheers, Tim
