Hi there
Haven't found anything at all on the web so thought I'd start a new topic to get some answers for me and others having the problem. At the moment, my auto gear stick moves back to front and side to side, I have bought some new pivot bushes for this, but now do not know how to install them or where they go. I have looked under the gear stick cover and taken the lock but off, but no sign of any old bushes in there. Can someone please help me? Thanks

You will have to take the centre console out, and under the carpet is a gold colored metal housing that the stick pivots from. Incorporates the shift selector pin and a rod that goes through the metal to extend to the outside of the car and join to the selector rod on the trans.

You might need to completely remove it from the car, unbolting the shifter rod under the car and I'm pretty sure just 4 screws hold it to the centre hump.

Haven't changed the bushes on them before but I'm pretty sure it's highly possible.. I just remember that's how you remove the shifter from the car..
