Good Morning,
I am currently running a 2.5 inch bullet style 100 cell cat converter and I am hating the noise it produces. The cabin noise is quite unpleasant as it resonates quite hard in a certain rev range. I am after some advise on what to replace it with that would be the quietest option with the least resonance. Should I be looking for something with a higher cell count or steering away from the bullet style cat all together? Thanks, Dan |

Its not necessarily the cat thats causing the resination. A high flow cat will make your car slightly louder but its more the mufler and wether or not you have a rear resinator fitted.
Cheapest option is fit a resinator. .. |

I already have a straight through muffler and a resonator at the rear. Would you suggest replacing rear resonator with a muffler or going with another resonator in behind the cat?

Original exhaust systems had 2 resonators....1 after the CAT, and 1 at the rear, with the main muffler inbetween.......mind you, the factory mufflers were triple flow ones....not straight through.....however, the XR6 mufflers were straight through, and had an extra little resonator before the rear most resonator.

I might try a resonator in behind the cat and see if it helps. Thanks
