Hi all :D

well lashed out & bought the other half a replacement AU ... sedan

currently has a AU wagooon [stock other than lpg] which is good but doesn't really need the room :?:

so i am replacing with a slightly earlier model [oops!] sedan. has the usual fairmont things .... air, elec windows, climate control etc etc

{DESCRIPTION}

{DESCRIPTION}

does have some faults....

when picked up found out afta .. NO brake lights :shock:
climate control fan module didnt work - has now been replaced & works fully [not much in the blooody modules ANYWAY!! ]
problems with the elec windows .... pulled switches apart & cleaned ... replaced missing slave switch ... working 100%
no radio/sound system ... sound system waiting to go in

{DESCRIPTION}

just need ta get the new facia kit [next week]

{DESCRIPTION}

then workout the wiring for the speakers [may need help to verify which is which lol ] new sound system does not have a CD player as i don't use them & who has room for a cupla hunred CD's ?? will be using an MP3 player instead

things to do are ......

replumb the water/cooling lines for the LPG
workout noize when turning right [appears to be coming from rear? diff??]
rwc/rego changed to her name
tint windows
alloy wheels [believe it did have alloy's BUT only have 1 ... which is 15 inch]
fix annoying LPG idle
fix some dings

oh .... revert suspension to standard - :lol: i bottom out way to easy ... which is good the towbar is there :roll:

also have read up on the series2/3 brake/suspension upgrade [good thing she has a 'spare' series3 car here lol] - can the series3 diff be used in the series1? .... hell can the complete ABS brake system from the series3 be used in place of the series1 ABS brake system??

will have more questions as the days go on................. :roll: ............ :mrgreen:

It's standard get a plug in adaptor from autobarn or suupercrap auto. Get one that matches your stereo to you car eg. Sony to ef falco or au to pioneer for 20-25$ don't hack your loom!!

Completely different heaterbox in the AU I found out when I was doing my AU install... Similar, but different... So not sure whether it changed enough to mean this wont bolt up... A few physical things changed with it due to the firewall shape change to incorporate the dash...

You need to buy the aerpro adapter harness for your headunit... All you do then is match the colours up and solder them together... Don't use screw terminals or scotch locks... Then all you do is plug your patch harness into the factory plug and into the head unit... The aerpro harness comes with the std wiring colours...

See my input into this thread for an EF one... Same applies to you but you need the AU one...

Thinking about your fan module again...

That thing itself will fit inside the heaterbox... But the AU wiring I have (low series) has the plug to the dash under the recirc flap where the E series had it behind the CD player... They were sort of back to front for low series and the fan plug was wired different...

As long as the plug arrangement looks the same as what you have currently then it will fit, but I fear you would be shortening some plugs and lengthening others to make it work... Up to you...

Automatic climate control in the falcons is nothing but a great pain in the a** with all these modules... The blend door motors that play up and cause problems... And everyone I've stepped into you start the car and hit manual because it brings the fan on flat stick and is annoying... Never had an issue with the manual climate control and never causes an issue... My 2 cents worth anyway...

Cheers,
Tim
