I have just installed a pair of new H4 bulbs and one headlight is giving a flared beam whilst the other appears to throw out a spotlight effect.
Would this be caused by the glass or the plastic covering (or whatever it is), or the reflector? And what is the best way to deal with this? Height adjustment isn't helping at all.

Hi,
You may have dodgy bulbs. Have you swapped them and seen if the problem moves ? If so take them back and buy quality bulbs.

Have swapped them, and the problem is unchanged.
They are fairly high quality they are Philips.

find a level straight bit of non busy road, there are two adjusters behind the lights, one in the middle at the bottom, this one adjusts them up and down , there is also a screw type one on the outside, these will adjust them in and out, fiddle with them till you obtain what your after
