Last year I purchased a set of Pacemaker headers for my stock 5.0 with the E7 heads. Now I am considering the GT40P heads and am wondering if the Pacemakers will fit the GT40P heads or not? Anyone know?

Yep they do fit, a bit tight and you will need 90 degree spark plug leads but you get that with GT40P's. See my gallery for pics of them.

You might have the mechanic fitting them for you try to tell you that they won't fit, but they're only going off what the catalogues tell them.
As EDXR8 said, they'll fit but u need the 90* angles instead of the 135* ones. Oh, EDXR8, any chance of emailing me a snapshot of your modifided tool that you use for changing the plugs? I'll be getting my GT40Ps soon -Dave- |

-Dave- Yeah, I wouldn't mind a look at that myself! No5 is a b**ch. Was thinking of cutting down a socket or something.

Changing the plugs isnt hard. I did it to mine yesterday. Just used a plain old 3/8 drive ratchet and socket with small extension. It was a wobble extension.
No harder than changing plugs on a I6. BTW I'm glad I found this thread I was going to ask the same question. I want to get a good exhaust system going and was thinking of at some point going to GT40 heads and didnt want to have to buy another set of Pacemakers. Cheers |

Are you talking about stock E7 heads? Then yeah they are easy to change spark plugs with, GT40P heads on the other hand are much more difficult. |

Ahhh ok. Yeah I was talking the E7s. How much harder is it to do the GT40s?

GT40P's make it a lot harder but you get use to it after a few times. I can change all spark plugs in about 10 mins (first couple of times took 30+mins and a lot of swearing). For most plugs I use the normal spark plug socket but instead of a ratchet (which won't fit with most plugs) I just use a spanner on the back of the spark plug socket. There are a couple that you cannot even get a socket on, I just ground down one of those 'z' shaped spanners (sorry thats the only way I can describe them) so it will fit into the spark plug recess. I thouhgt about cutting down a socket and welding an arm onto it but havent got around to it yet. |

Great minds think alike. How hard is it to cut a socket, and weld it?
