Hi all,
I have a APSX D1 Wideband Controller (read more about it here: http://www.wide-band.com/techinfo ) I have a digital gauge hooked up and it's working fine (0.1 resolution), but I need it logged together with other engine data. It has the following outputs. OUTPUTS 1 - Analog Limits are at 9 - 19 .........0v = 9 afr .........5v = 19 afr 2 - Digital output is 9600 8N1 serial which can be connected to your PC 3 - Simulated NB output I don't know what simulated NB output is.. but I suspect I can get a serial port setup for option 2. I need to capture this information in conjunction with the usual info required for AFR's... (RPM and TPS I guess?) Basically I would like to provide usable data (hopefully a graph) of AFR to RPM with throttle position as well? (don't know but I'm hoping that is how it's done.) Thought Forscan might be the go.. but it is more like a windows version of the torque app that specialises with fords. Basically, what do I need to provide someone to make sense of my AFR? I have many bluetooth ODB2 adaptors, I have a mongoose J2534 cable and several laptops and tablets I can use. Advise me kind experts! regards Frank |

simulated NB output is a simulated narrowband o2 output so you can link it back to the ecu if you have taken the o2 out to use the wideband, it doesnt look like you have anymore inputs that you can plug into to log tps/map/vss etc

I know that the ASPX D1 wideband can log successfully to TunerStudio, but TunerStudio is made for megasquirt ECU's and not ODB2 or J2534.. (near as I can tell) If I can use TunerStudio to collect data via ODB2 it would solve all my problems, but I've not been able to find anything definitive via rampant googling. I've also emailed lots of folks asking about their software.. one option is dashcommand which has ODB2 Logging functionality.. if I can integrate my widebands output to that, I'll have what i need.. Also wondering about Forscan which looks like interesting Kit, but there isn't much info or documentation about it in this regard. (and their forum is down presently) |

oh s**t, didnt realise you had a ba. thought u had an e series. not sure what u can log on b series

I have a Techedge WB controller (from TI Performance) and am logging its outputs on a laptop using an RS232-USB cable and Winlog software. The Winlog software appears to be able to log pretty much anything you can connect to the PC. But electronics is beyond me, and the RS232-USB cable makes it idiot-proof, so not sure what you might need in order to connect your controller outputs to a laptop in a readable format. Here are the main sources I used, in case they are of any help:
http://www.tiperformance.com.au/library/diy-guides/ http://www.wbo2.com.au/ I am also using the NBSim (Narrow Band Simulation) as input to my ECU because I have only the WB sensor in my car. The NBSim converts the WB signal into what an NB would be outputing at the same AFR, so the ECU doesn't know any different. Most of the time I run with no O2 feedback to the ECU at all. With no O2 signal, it can't go into closed loop, so operates solely off the tables I have tuned. It gets better highway economy with no O2 input (also no cat to worry about, however) - go figure.

You sir are a legend.. winlog might be just what I need. If I can find a way to get winlog to incorporate bluetooth ODB data i will be set. and if it can't do that from factory, I might be able to write a progam that makes a fake com port and streams odb2 data to it. |
