Hi all just need some help I am looking at getting a set of AU electric seats from a series 3 Fairmont and installing in to my falcon Wagon.
is this an easy plug and play approach are is it linked in to a bigger system as I know that it has a memory system as well. has any one done this or know what I am in for?? thanks Doug |

The memory controller is in the drivers door.
They all link together. The mirrors are connected to the memory system as well and are different to a normal mirror.

do all I have to do is supply power to the memory supply box or would there be more involved do you think?
Thank Matt |

See attached... Then it depends where these modules are mounted as to how hard it is to get wiring to them...

The seat module is under the drivers seat - from memory, the mirror module links to it.
It depends if you want the mirrors to position with the seat position - the mirror module also dips the mirrors when reversing, there is a tech doc in the AU section on how to set that up. The mirror module sits up near the electric mirror switch - behind the door card, just looks like a small cct card. It seems to be optional in AU/BA Ghias and Fairlanes.

Snap,
That would explain why the reverse light wire also feeds into it... It also has a speed input so something must change with road speed too... The wiring shows 3 wires linking the modules together and what appears to be special mirrors which have power and earth and then a bus signal wire for control... probably as rare as rocking horse s**t should one ever fail... The memory thing seems like it would turn out to be more a PITA than a help... Cheers, Tim
