Here is one for all you techies out there.
I have a 2002 BA and it has the black screen. I fitted the Ford phone hands free/ipod connector to it some years ago. The ipod sound comes via the 9mm plug on the top of the unit, but it has to be continually charged separately.
My question is thus:- will the above unit from ebay be compatable with existing?
Cheers,
Terry.

It just looks like an aux in adaptor. If it is it wont charge the ipod as well.
If you are wanting an aux input then this will do it.. Im using one in my car but the genuine one. Connects up all neatly in the back of the tissue box.

Tissue box or fuse box? I had the non - amplified kit (same as in the eBay link) and it connected in next to the mobile phone connector behind the fuse box.

It won't charge the apple device, and I would avoid purchasing it. Get the amplified one if you are using a portable device. I used mine to temporarily wire in a second head unit, so didn't need to get the amplified kit.

Well guys, I went ahead and purchased the kit. Fitted it today, and the sound difference is remarkable, and it does charge as promised. Still have to control it at the ipod, but who cares, it does everything I wish for.
