Hey all,
I have decided to give my XH a going over. So I am after ideas. I dont wont to go crazy, just get it running great and looking good. Does anyone know a good, trustworthy panel beater in the Newcastle area? I think the chassis may be a bit bent. I also think the suspension, diff, wheels and brakes can be looked at. All helpful ideas and advice will be accepted. Cheers

Mate, if the chassis (?) is bent, get another shell and start again. If it's had a big hit, it will be cheaper and easier to re-shell it. Just find a ratty thing with no options, etc, as long as the body is OK. Trust me, it's easier.
Good luck.

Hey mate, what sort of XH is it?
Does it have personal meaning to you? Personally, I would not start with a car that has a bent chassis, even if it was a rarer model xh. I had a friend who was a parts dealer for Holden. His colleague sold a rare HSV which he'd owned for a few years and loved smoking it up. ... like... all the time. Apparently the chassis didn't like this too much and neither did the new owner whom on investigation for what he assumed to be bad wheel alignment... was quoted a repair bill that was half... Yes half! the cost of the car. So chassis repairs are a scary place to be! If it was me. (Xh XR8 only) I would strip it completely and stick it in a nice shell with a colour I liked. If it was a 6cyl longreach, I'd leave it and sell as is, then buy a new, straight xh. You could pick one up for 3k less what you sold yours for.
