I want to put a eb xr6 300kpa fpr in my na fairlane as ive read and been told that using the 300kpa fpr over my standard 270kpa fpr will increase torque and get me moving faster but what are the pros and cons? Need to know by tomorrow.

Extra fuel pressure is not going to give you any torque increase.
You need an XR6 ECU cam and head to go with it, or better still and aftermarket reground cam. To get more performance out of the engine, you need to also look at improving the cold air intake and putting on a good 2.5" exhaust system

Im working on a CAI, im getting extractors and a kit fitted on the 17th, in afair few months the 2.5" press bent will be getting replaced with 2.5" mandrel bent, and ive replaced the plugs, leads, rotor cap and button and the head gasket with a au mls gasket, fuel filter, radiator and all the hoses. So why do people keep saying to use a ebxr6 fpr instead of the standard?

What "people" tell you this? Do they have a clue?
Falcons run extremely rich. XR6's gain power by switching to a stock reg. Do not fit the XR6 reg to a standard car unless you have checked it with a Wideband and it needs more fuel. Jason

when i ran my ef with tickford head, and ecu on the stock 270kpa reg the afr's were nearly spot on with a 977b cam. so just goes to show how rich they run from factory

without knowing what your air fuel ratio is at full throttle, the is no point in doing it..
as mentioned the falcon already run slightly rich as they are, so by upping fuel pressure your just adding more fuel.. making the car richer than it already is may just make it drink more fuel and go no better or actually worse.. |
