Car is a 1997 DL LTD.

I've been having problems with the red surge box inside the fuel tank, when driving it moves around and foul's with the fuel sender so once the fuel gets below half tank and approaches 1/4 tank empty I have no idea how much more is left and it's been giving me the s**t's for a while now.

I've heard/seen some people just rip the things out but I'm not really all that keen on doing that, I was hoping that someone know's a more permanent fix to that, which hopefully doesn't resort to getting a fuel tank from a wrecker.

I wouldn't rip it out as you may have fuel surging issues without it..
tanks are easy to get and cheap, imo easier to just replace the tank
