Hey guys, my EL Fairmont Ghia is in the middle of a manual conversion with a T5 out of an XH at the moment, the guy doing the conversion is concerned about the metal damper on the end of the manual tailshaft, which isn't on the auto one which came out of my car, is it possible to take it to a shop and have one put on?
Thanks much guys. |

Use the tailshaft that came out of your car if you are that worried. E series Sedan tailshafts either auto or Manual are the same length. It's only the AU that used a shorter tailshaft than the auto.

In saying that, best to have the diff end oriented the same way it came out...not sure if that makes much of a difference

Which will more than likely be yours anyway.

Is the Tailshaft from an XH?
If it is, you won't be able to use it in the sedan. |

I agree with the others in saying use your original tailshaft.
