Good choice with the ford....ha ha.
But hey first and foremost - just treat it well and look after it. Mods? Well i will just say the usual: > A new exhaust system will improve responsiveness a lot! So you buy a Redback 2.5" sports exhuast off ebay OR go to an exhuast shop and request a 2.5" sports exhuast with 1 muffler and 1 resonator. >Buy extrators. For BA-BF's I think they are called 4495 > Improve the flow of cold air into the throttle body. This is achieved via a larger snorkle and a high flow filter(k&n filter). I am led to believe a F6 airbox is a straight swap for BA's. With all these mods, the whole in flow and outflow will be less stifled and in turn go faster. However, do expect anything like boost On DOHC, people also do things like underdrives, etc. I have looked into them much, Im more of the SOHC guy. Exterior wise - start of by lowering the ute. You buy Low king springs/super low off ebay for the front (search BA BF LOWERED SPRINGS UTE). King Springs is one of the most common. Next you have to have your rear leaf springs reset. You can do the research yourself (I know pedder's do it). All you have to say it is " i want my springs reset 40mm lower" or whatever. Otherwise, you can buy brand new pre-lowered springs for $700-900. The upside to this is it will be strong, brand new and last longer. [Really recommend this!!] The next exterior mod is to have the car properly detailed. It will cost you have $250-$400. They will make you're paint look like new, shine, sparkle, protect, create depth, remove grime...not only that but they will clean the engine bay, touch up paint, clean the whole interior and wheel guards. Now obviously with an aluminium tray its a bit different. I don't know much about making aluminium look nice. I reckon lowered utes with tubs always look better. plus you have more paintwork to show off. If you would like (or can afford) but a nice set of 19" Fg xr6t luxury pack wheels. They will look great. Stick to factory wheels to ensure you don't become a bit ricey. When you've done that - probably cost you $3000-$5000.............save up (for an xr6 turbo...or 5L winsor v8) (ps. do you know all this?? - Probably......)

hmm....is the lpg difference going to make any difference to what performance/exterior mods you can do?? Can't really see it making a lot of difference, esp. if its dedicated. you better check up though.
See how amazing that paint looks?? See if you can get it like that! That ute probably would have been worked on for more than 12 hours though - its owned by a detailer. I wasn't going to mention custom tray, cuz i thought it might be out the question, but anyway - that would be one of the best exterior mods you could do.

I Too. Am in the process. of doing up my Greentop BF MkII xt.
Preformance Wise everyones Going to tell you 'its cheaper to buy a XR6t'' In my eyes, it probably will be. But you can pre much do all the Same s**t to your Motor as you can the Gas. Infact I have a list of s**t, I plan on buying to turn it from the stocko XT to a Turbo'd Xt. only going to be running around 6PsI for now. until I upgrade more Enternals. Basically give it to the end of the Year; Just to buy the right parts im looking at about 1600, (without fitment and a tune) But it is possible to make the greentop go Faster. |
