Have an EL XR8 and most would know they seem to be povvo packs and not have rear electric windows. It is also an ex police model and the interior light doesn't work when doors are opened and the body control module was changed for this reason. My question relates to the installation of the rear electric windows. I have scored with the doors the complete interior wiring loom. Wiring loom is from a 6 but being interior would this matter? Would anyone recommend I change the loom or just add in the wiring for the windows only. Just thinking if I change the loom my interior light problem may be rectified?

I'm not 100% myself. By just some thoughts..
8/6 shouldn't matter.. The interior of the cars were the same.. So it's a matter of adding or swapping.. I'm assuming you have front electric doors.. I'd be thinking you'd need to fit the whole loom you got with the doors, the car may not have the rear door loom provisions.. Either that or the rear door loom is tucked under the carpet.. I'm more Fairlane NA-NC knowledgable. Which have high series looms.. So I haven't come across needing to add anything. Hopefully TimmyA finds this, or an EF/EL owner..

OK - few things. There should be a switch on the dash which enables all of the interior lights. Find that, and that will be good as gold. Thats part of the Opt20 Package.
As for Wiring - I was under the impression that *some* of the EL's may be wired for power windows F+R. Fairly easy to tell though - pull the Centre power window switch fascia (ok, do the two screws in the bin, then lift the switches out) and see if the connector to the body harness is nearly fully loaded, or only about half loaded. Its a little fiddly, but not a terrible job to add the wiring for the back doors anyway - if you have a little electrical nouse Nigel |

Only switch on the dash regarding the interior light is the normal one for the interior light. It does turn it on but not when doors are open.
