g'day folks,

im putting a v8 out of a NC fairlane into my mk2 escort and am in need of a fuel pump. does anyone know the fuel pressure needed??

The fuel pressure is done through the regulator on the injector rail.
Pretty much any EFI pump will do the job for you.

ohhhhh thanks for that. so roughly 30-50 psi should d? then the regulator will take care of the rest

Use a Wlabro GSS341 or a GSS342 or similar and you will have no issues.

planning on running a fuel cell and an inline pump not an in tank pump.

If the engine is standard or near to, I'd use a stock pump and make it fit inside your fuel cell. Otherwise get a pump that'll supply a max of about 120L/Hr @ 40 psi and you'll be all good.
If you use a pump that's too big you'll just recirculate too much fuel back to the tank which heats up the fuel making heaps of fuel vapor.
