my understanding is NO
as far as i know because of the two differant door locking systems ie smartlock/smartshield ooops!! if your putting the AU1 motor in a AU2 then you will need to change inlet [not sure what part] coz there are a coupla differances - thats all i know |

{USERNAME} wrote: Will au2 fairmont ecu run au1 xr6 engine temporary till I get a j3 xr6 tune Stick the AUI engine in and use the AUII Coil. I think that the MAP sensor is also different as well but don't quote me on that. All else should bolt up with no issues. You will need to use the AUII Alternator as well, AUI & AUII/III/BA are different alternators. {USERNAME} wrote: if your putting the AU1 motor in a AU2 then you will need to change inlet [not sure what part] coz there are a coupla differances - thats all i know AU BBM upper is different to the EF/EL, throttle body also has different TPS. |

You don't need to change the BBM or the TPS, that was a reference to the difference between AU & EF/EL. And if you don't know what or where a BBM is then don't try an engine change. BBM is the Broad Band Manifold. |

Grab a workshop Manual for that series, they are worth every cent. Max Ellerys do a good one for the AU.
