Never "re use" a head bolt, even if its brand new, you torque it down, and have to undo it (for whatever reason). throw it away,

afaik Windsor head bolts are not a torque to yield bolts and can be re used..
although I would still fit new ones..

unlike the 6 cyl which are a throw away item.

Rumour has it the early Windsor in the EB and ED that had the forged TRW slugs in them have reusable bolts.
The later EF onwards ones that have circles in the head bolts are said to be TTY.

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around!

I remember something about them being able to be used twice only....EB to ED.

Integral washer head bolts (with dimple in centre of bolt head) = TTY = repace every time.

Conventional head bolt = can be re-used. Also came with forged TRW's from the factory.

EB1 V8's were all conventional bolts, EB2 to EF V8's could be either (conventional became less likely the later the car was assembled, so EB2 more likely than ED which was more likely than EF), EL V8 onwards = all TTY.

Felpro head gaskets suggest 70ftlbs for short bolts and 80ftlbs for long bolts for conventional head bolts.

I do not use TTY's. If I am replacing I upgrade to ARP's.

The genuine Ford gaskets were Felpro anyway.....I saw them when I pulled the Intakes off....stamped in the gasket.
At the time is was $500 for a VRS Gasket set from Ford, and was about $160 from Rocket Ind.
