Yes it will be fine , get them to replace that line and service at the same time. Mention the transmission filter.

You got to be kidding right? Who told you that ? Why did u service it twice already then? Transmission service should be every 20-25 thousand. Look after your and it will look after you..

lol i got told every 100 000 it was serviced twice because the first time was just a service the second time it was having a switch replaced and they decided to service it at the same time

If its been serviced twice this year and you reckon it needs service every 100,000km, how many KM do you do a year The 100,000km is s**t, do it at least every 40,000 (it is recommended at 50,000km) or earlier depending on driving conditions. If you do a lot of towing, do it every 20,000-30,000km. Also fit an oil cooler, even the Factory one, it will increase the life of your Auto. BTR's hate heat. |

Thats why we say, get it done at the pro's. You can do it in your driveway, remember if you jack up the front, the plug is towards the rear of the box and you will get a lower level. If you have a sloped driveway you could do it so when you run the car up the ramps it will be a some sort of level posture. Other thing you can do, is do the service and then drop into a Mechanics and get them to check the level.

I wish Ford used their brains and kept the dipstick in their 4 speed's it is a pain in the neck especially doing your own services got a trick though to put the fluid in. Simply get a tube approx 5mm wide insert into the fill hole run it through to the engine bay and put a funnel on get an assistant to pour until the fluid comes back out the hole

Just a quick question about refilling the sealed unit with transmission fluid.
Approx how many litres of tranny fluid do I need to buy to completely fill up from installing new filter and; do you need to have the car running and warmed up whilst checking for correct fluid level on the sealed unit?, do you advise to undo the side bolt whilst the car is running or is it safe to leave the bolt off prior to starting the car up? .....or, after the car is warmed up, turn off ignition, crawl under and undo the bolt to check level? The car is a 96 EF falcon. Cheers!! |
