it really depends what you prefer?

its pretty straight forward except for a few things.
1)you will need to swap the pedal box over or add manual pedals and clutch pedal pin to the auto pedal box.

2) is being a wagon you will need to source a manual tailshaft from a wagon or get custom tailshaft made, this is because the au 5 speed is longer than the auto box, and wagon being long wheel base, a manual sedan tailshaft wont fit..

3) if you want it 100% right with no modified wiring ect.
you will need the engine loom from a manual as the gearbox wiring is part of the engine loom on au 6 cyl.. otherwise you will need to tape up the extra un used wires and join the inhibitor/ starter circuit so the car will start, cut and put spade plugs onto the reverse wires for reverse lights..

and lastly, the ecu... you can use a j3 chip to over ride the factory auto tune with a manual tune, or use a manual ecu, but being a s2 you will need to either get the matching bcm and ignition with key from the car the ecu came from.
or have the ecu mated to your current bcm and keys by ford or a auto electrician ..
