Getting more done to the camper as I get time.
Pretty happy with how its going actually. Boring pic of the steelwork so far. How it will all sit together. Just need to get some gas bottle holders and some bolts to finish things off before painting and putting it together. Will probably make a stone guard as well.

As some people heard the Fairute got run up the back of between Christmas and New Years.
The woman that hit me didn't want to know about it and drove off , luckily I managed to get her rego and the police helped me out with getting her details for my insurance. No fault claim for me , so no excess had to be paid or no claim bonus lost thankfully. It finally went into the panel shop for repairs last week and I managed to slip past and get a few pics of it being repaired. Im also getting some other tidy up work done while it is in. Poor old girl looks pretty sore and sorry for herself at the moment but will be mint when it comes back.

The fairute has returned and looks great. Needs a wash before I take any new pictures.
Have just been playing along with the trailer and a few other projects. Currently waiting to get some definite direction and times on the employment situation so I have been spending most of my time lining those ducks up for what I want to get up to. The build on the Mav has changed somewhat for the better. Stuff is currently being organised and if what I want to happen actually happens , the Mav will be sorted pretty quick and will be on the road as it will be needed. Keeping my mouth shut about things at the moment in case it doesn't happen , but I currently have my ducks all lined up and am just waiting to slip the clip in and pull the trigger.................

Well stuff happening , stuff not happening and s**t of change and updates.
Firstly I finally got made redundant on Friday! After much backwards and forwards and many ups and down it finally happened. So now I will be concentrating on starting my own business up which I will share with you all once its sorted. Obviously all this happening has made me sit back and reassess things , workout what I want to do and what needs to be done to make it happen. First port of call. I have decided the Fairute is too good a vehicle to use as a full on workhack and I don't want to destroy it being used as a tradies ute. So I went shopping with Ballast yesterday and bought this. 1998 GU1 ST Nissan Pootrol. 4.5 manual , 2" lift , sway bar disconnects . Eaton E locker in the front , twin batteries , power supply in cargo area , 33" muddies , ARB winch bar and registered until December. Got it for a VERY good price after some negotiation. Once I make up some removable storage in the back to protect the interior it will make a good pseudo panel van/work horse and be great for me and Don to go away in. I hopefully pick it up this week sometime. To get this a sacrifice has to be made and it is the Fairute , so that is currently up for sale. Will be sad to see the Fairute go but life changes and needs change. Then here comes the hard news. It hurts real bad but project Mav is going to be retired. It hurts as I have had it so long , had so much fun in it and love it so much , but once again life and priorities change. With a stuffed shoulder and knee as a present from my former place of work , I have got nowhere as far along as I needed it to be and with me setting up my business , which will involve working my a*** off and dealing with my injuries , quite simply I wont have the time , energy or dollars to justify throwing at it for a couple of years to do a major build properly. To cut corners on it just to have it done is just a waste and I wont do it. 95% of the really good mechanical stuff in it is a direct swap over for the GU so that's what will be happening. So really the GU will be basically the Mavs younger , much better looking brother. The GU being a 1998 model falls in line with AU onwards for pollution requirements and I have both AU 5.0 gear and BA twin cam gear at my disposal. Wont be happening for a fair amount of time so have plenty of time to sort it out. Im pretty sure I know which way Ill go when the time is right..................... Hard but fun and interesting times ahead , but we never get anywhere in life sitting on our hands so moving with the times is a requirement.

Hope your self-employed job turns out OK.......best of british to ya....
The wifes wants a new dual cab 4x4 ute......but I can't really do anything about it.....I don't know from one week to the next if I will have a job..... They (my work) sacked 52 or so people in the last 8-9 months.....some of them hadn't long bought new cars........I don't wanna get a new car, then have to sell it to survive......that would fkn suck. It's only gunna get worse with all the big companies cutting back, shutting down and moving, changing the way they do things, etc. We're gunna be in for a rough ride for a while me thinks.

Well the Fairute was picked up by its new owner this morning.
Many thanks to Ballast for the lift from the airport at stupid oclock this morning and the f**k around. The Mav is down in the workshop being stripped and will be disposed of. Its time to turn a new page and a new beginning. In saying that I reckon this thread can be locked up and put to bed.
