hey guys, just got a few queries before i decide to rip out my old loom etc.
i'd rather be sure, so i may ask some dumb questions :)

i'm using an XH ute with a BA engine/T5 gearbox and BF ECU/loom.
i'm using a hp tuners VCM suite to tune it and disable PATS/security and any codes that pop up.

what is the best way for me to get the speedo working? i'm aware that the BA+ manuals use the ABS to get the speed. i have abs but its the XH gear. am i going to have to install the BF ABS module and ABS unit or can i get away with using just the speed sensor from the XH ABS? or is there another way?

assuming i connect all relevant ignition/power/grounds with the ECU flashed ready to go, will the engine run with ONLY the engine loom and accelerator peddle connected?
ie. no wires running into the cabin etc other than the ignition wire...
only asking this question as i need to have the car running, so if i run in to any problems i will just wire what i need to and get the car running, dont care if there is no speedo etc, the car is almost not drivable atm, so need to get the bf ecu in asap.

whats the go with the big rectangle plug in the engine loom?
i cut the loom where it goes into the body, just under the gaurd, i have alot of wires that go into the B connector/plug, thats fine i understand what they are, but i have around 9 wires that are dead ends, as in the go from the rectangle plug into the cabin.
some are quite thick. i tried to follow them on the other side of the engine loom but the wires all lead into the engine loom, not straight into another ECU plug.

i can only assume its things like power for some of the interior, triggers etc.
i'll continue ripping the engine loom apart to see where they go, but would prefer not having to do that lol. if anyone could help that would be great :)
as long as i don't require them in a setup that is running only the ECU from the BF (no dash, bcm etc) then its all good.

otherwise i feel quite confident about it, doesn't seem too difficult.
i guess as long as the engine will start and run with the power setup correctly then i can figure the rest out from there haha.

is there anything else i should know?
i know often alot of questions get asked about this conversion, but i have done some reading and not many people document things well enough for me to get the info from only a build thread.

also if anyone has a link for a BF ECU pinout that would be great!
i have one for a BA but there seems to be a few small differences

i actually figured out most the wires that go to a dead end.

thick yellow - start motor solenoid
red/green - Coil power
White/red - injector power
red - trans pin 15
red/blue - trans pin 5
yellow/black - AC clutch
thick blue - something to do with the HEGO sensors, think earth or 12v.

i'm writing up an ECU pinout of a wiring diagram with correct wire colors and am using a write up by someone that put a BA motor in an XH. theres a few difference with the BF stuff so ill do a separate write up with where any wires need to be connected to the XH stuff so its a bit easier for everyone else.
