better for what?

drag racing?
circuit racing?
just coz?

There is a lot of improvement that can be done to the stock rear end without completely changing it.

Drag and Track are 2 different courses, eh?
You don't see Quarter Horses being used in the Melbourne Cup, eh?
Horses for Courses.
There's a lot in it.

Ummm, standard setup is a 4-link, with a watts link so even better :D

So you're adding adjustable and beefier arms. Why?

That comes with using the right shockies.
Shocks for drag racing are completely different to ones for track/circuit.

Tyres, shocks, and bushes will give you the right hook-up, and remove tramp.
There's been a few E-series lift a wheel at the drags on the stock rear suspension so I'd say the stock gear is up to the task.
