Hey guys I have a ef xr6 manual and I am getting so p****d off at these power steering switches leaking. I've to date in the last 2 years of owning my xr6 had to fit 14 powersteering switches cause they keep leaking. Why would they keep going all the time? I've replace the steering rack, powersteering hoses and pump and still they keep leaking any idea?

Are you saying that you are fitting a new switch on an average of 7 to 8 weeks?
You must be doing something wrong. How are you fitting them? In all the years I have had our EF & EL, I have only had to replace one on each car. |

Yeah about that, and I can't be doing anything wrong cause I install them correctly everytime, same part everytime and every 6-8 weeks just starts pissing powersteering oil not dropping Actuly like a tap is cracked when the car if running and have to top up powersteering pump about every 15-30 mins when driving

What are you using to do them up?
What brand switches are you using? |

I drop the rack and do it that way cause my extracters are in the way somthing bad, I use a 14 mm spanner and I don't do it up tight tight I nip it up then just abit more that's it and I think it's fuel master, my mums fairlane she had blew one like 5 years ago and I put the same brand one in and no problem to date

1. It's supposed to have an O ring - are you fitting them with an O ring?
2. I had a Fuel Miser fuel pump do it's dam nest to kill me several times during a 2 month period until I realised it was the NEW F^%$ING FUEL PUMP which was making the car randomly just quit - ie. in heavy traffic and middle of intersections etc... Replacement VDO pump (which was CHEAPER btw) hasn't missed a beat in near two years. So I personally don't have a lot of regard for Fuel Miser stuff. 3. It might simply be the heat from those extractors killing them - so yeah maybe try a blanking plug and do without it.
