Goodday guys, I started a thread hoping I can find an answer to my thread titled as above. I got a whole roof cut from the pillars due to the sunroof that it has which I wanted to put on my EB Fairmont but as prices for AU's are relatively cheap for a V8 model I am steering towards that. My inquiry is would the sunroof assembly from an EF-EL fit onto the AU or is the AU roof a completely different design? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

pretty sure the AU roof is a totally differant shape ie curved compared to the EA/EB/EF/EL which has a 'flat' roof

Thanks Contact these people. http://www.roofracksa.com.au/sunroof_city.html They are in Adelaide and should be able to help you out. Ask them if the same sunroof will fit either car. I doubt very much that Sunroof manufactures like Hollandia make specific sunroofs for specific cars. Not in this country anyway. I believe that the sunroof from the EL will fit but you will need to make new side brackets. |

Cheers SWC, definitely comes along way that info
Yeah I gathered that there will be some minor (or major) work to be involved with it. I bought the whole roof to put into my EB Fairmont along with a V8 swap but decided if it is all goes tip top with an AU I will steer to an AU XR8 as the prices for them make it worthwhile enough in my opinion. Once again thanks for the info SWC, highly appreciated |

I have fitted a sunroof out of a sedan into a wagon, both E series, totaly different rooflines. As I stated, I believe the E series sunroof will fit the AU, which is why I suggested contacting a sunroof specialist, as the one located in Adelaide. |
