I am going to replace the brake pads in an AU3 XR8 this weekend. These have different pads than regular AU falcons, so I assume the calipers are also different. Is there a technical document or thread somewhere that describes the process, especially the rear pads. On EB's I've owned, the pistons needed to be rotated to retract them back inside the housing. Is the process similar for AU3 XR8? TIA

OK, I bought the brake pads listed for AU2/3 XR6/8 (tickford) DB1353 front and DB1354 rear. Went to fit the fronts, and they are way different. Found a part number on the old pads - DB1357. These are the pads listed for AU2/3 except Tickford. http://www.bendix.com.au/catalogue/150- ... lar-brakes.
What's going on here?? The front calipers are 2 pot. Did regular AU2/3 falcons get twin pot calipers and someone has switched a set onto this XR8. OR. Has someone fitted the wrong front pads to the twin pot callipers? Any help appreciated

All Series 2 and 3 got twin piston calipers.
I think you have assumed because its says except Tickford that they are all different. The Tickford premium brakes were an option on them. Obviously the one you are working on has not been optioned with them. The rear brakes have the handbrake in the disc. Its just push the piston back like the fronts. No special tricks required.

Thanks for the reply, and spot on with your analysis
I assumed that since this car is a Tickford, it fell into the classification listed, and bought pads accordingly. Did the tickford calipers get the tickford emblem on the to visually differentiate from standard 2 pot calipers??? Cheers

The Tickford brake kit is 330mm with PBR C4 Callipers.
