Hi guys I got a el ford fairmont, it's current idle is 1000rmp is this too high, I thought the idle should be around 750rmp. If someone could let me know cheers

Yep way too high. If it happened all of a sudden check your isc and check for vac leaks

At idle lightly tap the isc motor. If the idle drops and stay's at around 750rpm then your isc motor is getting stuck. Replace it. If it doesn't drop then there will be too much to list. Possible causes power steering switch, air leak and even ecu. That is providing that the engine hasn't been tampered with.
