after doing a quick search on the web about converting a 99 au ute manual window regulators to electric i couldn't find anything with pictures!!! So i thought i'll do i little write up.
first source the regulators, i bought my non genuine ford ones from ebay. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170494653583 ... 1439.l2649 first take off the door trim. mine had a screw in the handle, two at the bottom and one on the side, yours may be different. Attachment: after you take of the trim panel youll see this: Attachment: i just ripped mine out because i'm going to put something else to replace it. Attachment: now the fun part, removing the window from the slider? (dunno) Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: after the clips are undone i lifted the window and secured it with tape. after the window is secured undo the nuts highlighted. i started with the slider? then the three nuts securing the regulator. Attachment: after the regulator is out you can begin to put the new one in the same way you took the old out. comparison: Attachment: bolt holes: Attachment: the black arrows are the old locations, the green are the new locations. this is what it will look like when completed Attachment: i'm not doing a wiring section because im doing my own wiring with a couple of switches and poly-switches from jaycar. if anyone has anything to contribute please do. cheers, fullyforded
