Hi folks. I have, an the past with non computerised ignition systems, run my lpg fired engines with a bit more advance than "standard" due to the higher octane rating of the lpg. It was usually about 5 deg. advanced. Would this still be good for an EL I6 on gas?
What I used to do in the past was advance the ignition until it pinged, and then back it off a bit. This could be done roadside, but with the systems in place with the EL, it would be too hard to do, what with having to put it into "learn" mode etc., each time. People's thoughts................... Cheers |

easiest way to play with advance on the el's is with a j3 and programmer. that way you don't have to have 5 deg across the board, you can stagger it etc

Also with a J3 chip, and the switch kit (Add $50 I think), you can run two tunes - one with LPG Advance, one with Petrol advance. Im sure that Jason at TI Performance can also advise on how to automatically switch tunes based on the LPG Switch position as well
