hi. i have a ford au1 auto ute and im putting in a t5 manual
out of a xr6 ute do i need to replace the tail shaft

Yes. AU Auto and manual tailshafts are not interchangable, unlike the E series Auto/Manual.

cause it is a xr6 box does it have to be a tailshaft out of a xr6 or can u use a standed au manual tailshaft

AU T5 is the same for a Forte or an XR. No difference. Use any AU Manual Tailshaft.

There is only one length AU Manual Tailshaft. Manual was not available from factory in the long wheel base vehicles.

Ute is longer wheelbase vehicle than a sedan.
