hey everyone, i have a bf mk2 auto,
i also have just wrecked a manual ba, i wanna put the ba motor and box complete straight into the bf, but i know the bf has 2 o2 sensors when the ba only has 1 o2 sensor, the bf has a few other bits and bobs that the ba doesnt, just wondering if anyone has any advise. i have the ba motor and box out, i have all the pedals, wiring, ecu, and all that jazz as well. im only 20 but a fair mechanic. just wondering if anyone has some useful tips before i under go this job. thanks. luke. |

Why go backwards??? Bf back to ba.. What's the point?
I don't deal with B series... Only Eseries, But I don't see the logic in it at all. Want manual? Put the man box behind the bf motor... I also read somewhere (don't quote me) that 2007+ BF XR6s had the typhoon bottom end..

Motor and box will fit in, but...
ECU and engine wiring are different. It would take a major rewire job to run a BA ecu in a BF and vice versa and the emissions would be the same...plus you would need to also change the cluster as well and possibly the ABS module ......is it really worth the headache

only reason i was going to go back to bf, was because my ba motor has custom cams and turbo injectors and has had a rebuild within the last too months,.
if its to much of a hassle, how hard will be to just swap the gear boxes? thanks! |

Put the cams in the BF motor they have higher compression than ba motors. Unless your bf motor has 250,000+ ks there is no point putting a rebuilt ba motor in these motors hardly wear out when serviced.
Changing injectors is easy. But is also a big waste of time unless it has a turbo. B series stock injectors are plenty big enough.
