Hi all, I'm in the process of fitting a Territory 4L into my manual Jeep Wrangler. To my knowledge, this hasn't been done before, so I need some help here. I believe the manual BA-BF bellhousing is unsuitable as it won't match up to any USA gearbox adapters. The AU T5 bellhousing does. I'm assuming an AU Bellhousing will bolt to the BA-BF engine. If this is correct, I am in need of a manual BA-BF flywheel & pressure plate. Is the AU flywheel the same? Is there a page with any of this interchange information listed? I have searched for one without success.
Any help or information will be greatly appreciated. |

Au bell housing will bolt up to ba block. Ea el bell housing will also bolt up but bottom to bolt holes will not line up. Plenty of people who are running au motors in Ef el have done this you can also use eb to el flywheel.
Good luck |

Thanks for that. Are the pre BA bellhousings the same weight & balanced to suit the BA, or they all the same?

Should be the same or you can try finding an Au bellhousing but they are as rare as rocking horse s**t.

Sorry about that...I meant to say flywheel, not bellhousing. Do you know if an Au flywheel is the same weight & balance as the BA-BF?

Couldn't answer that exactly but I am running a el flywheel on a ba engine using an el T5 gearbox.

Nope. I'm on the wrong track apparently...The bellhousing I need has the toploader pattern on it fit to the USA adapter plate. How far back model wise can I go with bellhousings thay will bolt to the BA block?

Thanks Steve. Which bellhousing would you use then to fit a toploader box to AU onwards.
Thanks again, Rick |

Don't know if a modified au one would work due to different input shaft lengths from memory castlemaine rod shop do a top loader to ea motor. This means bottom two bolt holes wont line up. They might do a ba to toploader one now give them a call. Good luck

Input shaft lengths between a 6 cylinder T5 and a top loader are the same.
Its only with the V8 T5 that is a different length.
