I have an AUII XR6 and my injectors, along with basically my whole fuel system, needs a really good clean out.
What's the best DIY way to clean your injectors?

Injector cleaner in the fuel tank is as far as you should go IMO. Unless you have an ultrasonic bath to stick the injectors in to give it a proper clean. Fuel filter should also be replaced while you're at it. If you want to clean the whole lot, drop the tank and give take out all the gunk on the bottom.

For what its worth to get them cleaned, it's probably better to do that than DYI.
I did consider a rubber hose filled with injector cleaner and connected to the injector and then fed with compressed air the other end and then firing the injector with a battery. The possible issues I came up with are as follows. I assume injector cleaner is combustable and would present a fire hazard. Retail cleaners are not designed to clean that way and I am not sure if its going to be as effective as the ultrasonic methods anyway. Slow process. The amount of cleaner required is unknown and recycling cleaner may not be a good idea. Results may be a visual check of the spray pattern but flow rates would be hard to judge correctly.

just get new injectors and be done with it imo

Just caught up with my mechanic after getting a new exedy clutch put in, highly recommended.
Anyway, was told that I could get my injectors serviced for $150 plus labour (if I dont take them out myself). I had a look at eBay and can get new injectors from around $120 up to $250. So what is the best way to go? I'm assuming I should buy a new set and keep the old ones just incase...

Also some injectors arent 12v so if you connect straight to a battery it might stuff them, this precaution is mainly for the peizo type injectors usually used on diesels but im not exactly sure what falcon ones are.

Anyone have any neat little setups to get the injectors all firing together in the ultrasonic bath rather than standing there with a switch clicking on and off for each one?
