Okay so I'm a complete noob to lowering vehicles (this is my first car) and I just want to get the complete lowdown. I'm thinking of lowering it about 70-75mm, using lowering blocks. I hear I need new shocks? If so, do I need to get certain ones for a lowered XH? I've been searching like crazy but I really have very little idea as to what I'm looking at. I shot Pedders an email and they want to charge me $482 for shocks.. I think there are cheaper ones out there.
Sorry for all the noob-ness guys, but any help is much appreciated. Cecilia |

hey mate, i myself have lowered my xg ute about 85mm with blocks in addition also putting lowered sport springs (was a 1tonner) and still drive with the standard 1tonner shocks, i think in total i have dropped my ute about 1ft and have not had any issues with the shocks or suspenssion in any form. i could just be lucky though but hope this helps put ur mind at ease

No worries mate, my advice is study the car, the jobs and mods, get your parts of ebay n fit yourself.
. my engine rebuild was bout $500 tops. . I did all the work in my garden shed, no stands or cranes, just a ratchet strap and trolly jack lol. Global with your ute and all the best. |

here is the latest on my old girl. repainted her 8mths ago, xf fairlane door trims with elec windows, ef 5spd box (better ratio), still running the bull bar(not in pic), has fibreglass flat top and nice new set of rims. this pic is with the 2 1/2" blocks in rear. and ditched the LSD for a mini spool instead...big improvment
how did you go with your bus?
