Over the past month i have purchased 2 NA fairlanes.
Car 1: 1990 6cyl 4sp auto, blue velour interior, all electrics work, regod untill april. The motors rooted has a blown head gasket and the rings arent to flash. Car 2: 1989 6cyl 3sp auto, motor seems pretty good, half the electrics dont work and its been out of rego for a year. Basically the first fairlane is the new daily i grabbed the second fairlane for parts and its almost ready to go to scrap things that will be going into the white one are. Throttle cable motor grill tailights and garnish i have also kept all the electrics spare and kept a few bits for my xf (diff, seats, console) Pics The good fairlane de grampa-fied Parts car Got the motor out today the converter was jammed on the back of the motor (yes i undone the bolts) theres now a nice puddle of trans fluid in the driveway i had to jimmy the converter off with a crow bar it was on there pretty good. So when the gold ones gone to scrap the white one will be back and the fun will begin. plans. my 18's tint lowering and a good polish.

a fair bit has happend since my last update.
got the fairlane towed up me and lukey_1990 pulled the motor out both motors bit of sludge tried some polish on a few parts on the paint will get a full polish when the motors in started cleaning the engine bay started fitting the LTD grill next to go on i have orderd a large stack of parts for the new engine i should be picking those up tomorrow night ill be degreasing the new motor and giving the block and rocker cover a fresh coat of paint im thinking blue or silver? I plan to have this running in the next few weeks i then need to sort out the power steering leak and chuck some brake pads in it. I have also decided to leave it stock and will be getting a set of 15" alloys a little later on.

This is a fair way behind where the cars at now it will be on the road this weekend i hope had a few dramas with it.
firstly my brother inlaw got some gaskets etc for me put the engine on the stand fixed the leaky sump found the bit of plastic in there and gasket goo in the oil pick up pressure washed it and painted it up me and lukey_1990 put the motor in but it had to come out i forgot the plate that goes between the block and bell housing and the left engine mount wouldnt line up me and dad got it sorted me and dad finished it off and i fired it up note no exhaust running out the cat it was bloody loud finished off the ltd grill fitted my better tailights and garnish the ones with the gold strip are the ones that went on engine bay coming along got some wheels 18s arent staying on it its staying stock apart ltd grill and these wheels once i get tyres i fitted some new front brake pads wich is where the gremlins happend ^ me and dad started bleeding them but couldnt get any pedal pressure we kept trying to bleed them thinking there may be some air in the system so some advice from my brother inlaw i pulled the calipers off and did the slides still no go ended up being the master cylinder the little piston inside was stuffed so i grabbed one from a wreckers i accidently broke a brake line due to incorrect tools brother inlaw will be up this weekend with some tools to fix it. dug through my spare parts and got out the white mirror covers i had looks abit nicer so this week is operation clean up before it hits the road i started with the boot its shocking. A few weeks ago me and dad had the boot trims off we found a little bottle "Water for sarinjes 5ml" and 2 used needles hidden behind a boot trim wrapped up in a paper bag dad was like probably drugs carefully opend ah dirty C*** LOL Before and now carpet was filthy i hosed it all off have to wait untill it drys also cleaned the boot trims also polished up the chrome bits and tried 1 wheel I also vaccumed the interior ill finish cleaning that tomorrow afternoon ill put the boot back together once the carpet drys it will also get a wash and polish and hopefully be able to start dailying next week.
