Bcm in the mail - be here friday or monday.

Fairly sure it goes for a second, any other way to know for sure? Where is the ECU in the car?

Tried reds a few times, no good. Would it be worth my while trying to re solder the joints on the bcm?

if key on for 30 min doesn't work - try reconnecting BCM - flex connection and tap BCM at same time as holding key in start position
ECU is behind left hand kick panel -
BCM has to be connected when on reds -

Should I have had the bcm disconnected when I was on reds for 30??

if you have a soldering iron etc. worth trying to resolder connection pins to circuit board but still could have faulty relays-components etc.

there is also the possibility that the ignition switch or circuit board is faulty and not sending information to BEM to tell it correct key is being used -

have you checked ALL your fuses ?
rechecked fuel pump operates when key first turned on - listen for pump operation with boot open while someone turns reds on.

do you have power at injectors with key on reds?
does smartlock light flash fast after ignition has been on for awhile ?

Got my new bcm and I can report... its still the same. I did discover a few ants in my starter relay which when removed the car turns over but it still wont start. I put a light into the injector wire and there is no current reaching them so I dont know what to do now. Everything seems ok except no spark. Could this be because coding the key to bcm has blocked the system?

Have you programed the ignition barrel to the BCM?

Put key in and turned on reds. After 30 mins the doors locked and unlocled once, I think this means it coded it but open to correction?

That means that it is coded.

Just as means to closing this off - took the car into a garage and the diagnostics showed that bcm was not registered. Using the computer he reprogrammed it and away it went. As means of a long shot he thinks an ant tripped it out and that it must have tried to recode once and failed and then it wont work again.
450 dollars for the experience and ive now sprayed the car down with surface ant killer so hopefully thats it all.
Thanks everyone who helped out by commenting, I appreciate it

as SWC mentioned the key has programmed to the BEM -
when you have key off is smartlock light flashing normal and then going out when you turn key on ?

as you have mentioned -please verify that you have no power to injectors -(red wire) this should have power when ignition switch is on -
other wire of injectors receive negative pulse from engine computer - use led test light if available -

if no power at injectors -check 30 amp eng fuse link for power at both ends and with ignition on check 30 amp hego fuse link for power at both ends with test light -
if no power at hego fuse link with ignition on check ignition switch

power to injectors feeds from engine control relay - (viewed looking down on battery) is relay closes to engine at rear of battery under coolant bottle - bridge contact circuits 30 and 87 and check for power at injectors (red wire)

the wires for this relay are
white/black - power from eng 30amp fuse link
black -earth for relay
red/dark green - power from ignition switch in on position for relay
red - power to injectors and other circuits

check wire colours in case some one has moved relay
