Hi all. Hoping someone out there can help me....
I have a 1994 ED Falcon station wagon. The mechanic put in a new alternator and then the CHECK ABS light came on in the car. I took it to an auto electrician who put his scan tool on it and told me the mechanic shorted out the ABS pump module. I took the car back to the mechanic who managed to find an ABS pump module from a wreckers and put it in the car. Reckons he also bled the brake lines, (now I find the brake pedal really spongy, but that's a whole other complaint). Took the car back to the auto electrician who cleared the codes with the scan tool (with the car not running). I started up the car and the light remains on. He put the scan tool back on and showed me that there are no codes to be cleared. Mechanic has thrown his hands in the air and said "I don't know". NRMA technical advice line says they've never heard of this happening. Auto electrician can't look at the car to try and figure it out until next week. I'm 1000km from home, twiddling my thumbs whilst waiting for this to resolve and would welcome any advice you can give me.

Do the brakes still work?
If they're still spongy keep bleeding them
