Hi I have a 2000 XR6.
Had alternator problems replaced it.. After connecting up we blew a main fuse.. Bought another main fuse did the same thing. So replaced the alternator again and fuse did exactly the same thing. The battery was not put on wrong way round.. So we have gone through 4 main fuses bought 2 alternators.. Getting very frustrated with it... Any help would great Cheers Jainell & Rob |

Try checking the main battery cable to the alternator isnt rubbing anywhere as this is where the car gets its power from

Ok will do that we had a quick look.. It looked ok having said that I think you are right and look a lot harder to see if there is something wrong with the main cable..
Thanks mate Will update if that's the problem |
