Hey everyone,
Was taking the Fairlane's dash apart today and was wondering, what the hell is this part? Someone had done some very s**t wiring on it and had left exposed wires all over the place.

I have a 1990 na2 fairlane and out of all the times I've been in behind my dash I have never seen something like that. I will pull out my glovebox and let you know if I have something like that.

I pulled out my glovebox and laid down on the floor to look up into the dash with a torch. I have nothing like you have.

Haha! Good, I don't feel so bad for not knowing what it is now.
Yeah, it has a rubber hose connected to it also. No idea what it is or where it goes.
I really have to take my dash apart anyway as my electrics are playing up so badly. I have flashing dash lights, no stereo, no air control. Who ever was in here before me made such a mess. I blew two fuses (stupidly I didn't disconnect the battery) trying to figure out what this part was when the exposed wires touched it. I'll investigate further and try and locate where the wires lead.

Well, I didn't get around to taking the dash apart as it's just been too hot.
I did have another look and paid better attention though. The black pipe, I'm assuming, is it's power supply, with the other wires perhaps connecting to the computer. I also managed to get a close up photo of it. I looked up the part number but it didn't returned anything.

Oh and no, the climate control isn't really working correctly. This is a separate issue though as it has worked in the past with this current 'set up'.

Its a clarion 4 channel amp. A simple google search of the part number helps
