So how important is this?
People are wanting to charge me stupid amounts just to set spring pressure settings, and bore out the spring area to fit the double valve springs I've bought. Should I fork it out? First time I've ever had dealings with this kind of thing. |

Did you buy the springs from Camtech or from someone else?
I recently bought a Camtech 845 and springs to match from Camtech ... they are a single spring and a direct replacement for the XR6 springs ... no machining of spring seats required.

Double spring or single with damper spring inside? It is important to check spring pressure at installed height, don't know why you would need the spring pad machined, there would be a spring to suit and the locator under the spring is what changes depending on the spring.

According to Camtech, double spring. |

I'm just going to have the head fully rebuilt. Too much spent to do one thing half a*** and stuff it up.

The 842 comes up as an AU cam so won't suit EF rocker gear, I hope you haven't been led down the wrong path.

Went to some trouble to identify the head and confirmed with Camtech.
Time will tell. |

Thanks mate. Yeah I just looked and they list the part number twice. Pretty silly.
With a 1.8 rocker for the AU and 2.1 for the EF. Way to make it difficult. |
